My husband purchased a gift card for my birthday, he asked what the options were for a massage and was told there was a 60 or 90 minute option, after the price was discussed, $70 of 60 minutes or $105 for 90 minutes, he bought a gift card for $105 dollars, with the intent of me getting a 90 minute massage. I attempted to book my 90 minute massage online, but when I checked the 3 locations near me for the next 3 weeks, there were no options for 90 minute massages, so my husband called and was told that there were no 90 minute appointments available, but I could book a 60 minute massage and use the rest of the gift card for add-ons. When I arrived to my appointment, I was offered add-ons and explained that I had a gift card and wanted to use whatever I could on the gift card. At that time, I was told that since I wasn't a member, and Massage Envy is membership based, my 60 minute massage would be $120. None of this was explained to my husband when he purchased the gift card. After some discussion, I was told that they would honor the introductory member price of $70 for my massage, so I had $35 to use toward add-ons. I selected and add-on and went to the waiting area. This was my first massage, so I undressed to my comfort level, which was my underwear was left on. When my massage therapist saw this, he informed me that he would not be able to proceed with the add-on I had selected because I was clothed. I feel like a lot of the purchase/membership/add-ons could use more explination.
