I booked a 90-minute massage appointment for 10:30 AM on 11/19/2024. The appointment was created at 9:16 PM on 11/18/2024. Shortly after booking, I realized I had selected the wrong time. I attempted to cancel the appointment online, but unfortunately, that option was unavailable. I then tried to reschedule, but that also wasn’t an option. Unsure of how to proceed and with the business already closed for the evening, I decided to wait until they opened the following morning. At 9:45 AM on 11/19/2024, I contacted the business to request a cancellation and reschedule the appointment for later that day. The representative I spoke with said she needed to check with her manager. After being placed on hold, I was informed that the cancellation could not be accommodated. While I did not fully expect a waiver, I hoped for a one-time courtesy since this was the first time this had happened to me. However, both the representative and the manager flatly refused. I explained that the appointment had been booked less than 24 hours earlier, and with no online cancellation option available, I was left with no way to address the issue until the business reopened. I suggested that customers should be allowed at least a one-hour grace period after booking to cancel or make changes, as mistakes can easily happen. The representative was dismissive and unwilling to discuss the matter further, effectively taking an entire session away from me. I find it unreasonable that no grace period is offered for immediate cancellations, especially when the online system doesn’t support such changes. Meanwhile, if the business cancels an appointment, customers receive no compensation. This experience, combined with other poor service issues I’ve encountered at Massage Envy, has left me extremely dissatisfied. As a result, I have decided to cancel my membership.
