The receptionist was welcoming and friendly at first. However, she was overly aggressive about trying to get us to become members. My boyfriend had surprised me with a one hour massage. She asked him while he was waiting for me if he'd like to join. He politely let her know that it was something he'd like to do later on in the future, but not right now. After continuing to rephrase the same question to him, she said "I see that her card is on file for the massage, do you think she'd like to join?" There are a few problems here. 1. It was my boyfriend's card on file, as he had gifted me the massage. 2. What a terrible way to sell something to someone. Why would she feel that splitting a couple up would be a good sales tactic? She definitely needs to be retrained on the art of selling. You should always leave someone feeling better about themselves when selling to them. I was pretty offended by her approach to him.
