I want to be clear that the provider was kind, professional, but perhaps really new? Or learned during covid and had fewer hands on hours? I recommend long, complete strokes. I always heard “finish your strokes” in massage school. Take the stroke through the stiffer connective tissue, not just muscle belly. The other piece I recommend is for the neck, a suggestion to pock the neck up and cradle in your hands, roll to one side and massage the muscles of the neck. Especially given that I came in for a shoulder upset, and most days in the more stressy modern life, neck is essential. Perhaps we ran out of time, but it should really have been better addressed, as I left feeling let down by the lack of neck work. Efflourage on the neck a few times is far less effective than what I describe above, which takes no more time and I find is easier to administer. Again, this is to be constructive, and I didn’t want to do it last night as I was a late night client, nor did I want to interrupt the service. Thanks, good luck. Thank you.
