The owner, Evelyn, was the worst part of my experience. My understanding is that this location is under new ownership/management. To provide full context, I have been a member along with my husband at this location since they opened. My favorite Massage therapist is Mui, who is an outstanding masseuse. My husband and I moved 75 miles away from the Bayside area, but we maintained our memberships because we liked Lauren and Amanda, the previous owners and we each had our favorite therapists. We continued our membership there since we still had family in the area and we’re satisfied. Throughout the pandemic, we did not freeze our accounts and opted to keep supporting this business as loyal patrons trying to do the right thing. In this time, we have accrued several sessions. I asked the new owner about freezing the account and she said I had to pay $20 per month until I was caught up. I understand that this is the policy, but I find it to be somewhat egregious considering that my husband and I supported the business in the most trying of times when both of our salaries were also reduced by 20% to keep our businesses afloat. The new owner referred to me as “honey” in the most condescending manner and said I supported the previous owner and not her. Regardless, we supported Massage Envy in Bayside as loyal customers. Her tone, facial expressions and mannerisms lacked the professionalism that business owners maintain. This individual lacks the business acumen and people skills needed to run a service business. If Massage Envy is interested in increasing profit margins in Bayside, think again. With Evelyn on board, this is a sure miss. I cancelled my membership on the spot. Evelyn didn’t care in the least, but I also didn’t except her to given her serious attitude problem. My husband will also be cancelling his membership as well. The unfortunate part is that we love our therapists there and will probably be losing out on our services accrued because we only have 60 days to use them up. I would like to request from the corporate office that our services be honored beyond the 60 days at another ME location, such as Rocky Point, which is closer to where we reside.
