I requested a service provider who was well versed in firm-deep pressure massages. The young lady at the front desk recommended a particular provider to me. The provider was 100% physically incapable of such a massage. Her knowledge of anatomy was atrocious. The bony process of my shoulder was being rubbed over and over again (I requested special attention be placed on my RHOMBOID muscles which are adjacent to the scapula) I asked for her to stop because I could feel my tendons being rubbed up against my shoulder bone, and I asked her to please focus on actual muscle areas- not bone. She was not happy. So the pressure was so light once she went on my actual muscles of the mid back and rhomboid area, that it qualified as a relaxation massage or a moisturizing session of the lotion being spread over my back repeatedly. I requested she drop because I knew immediately that I would not acquire relief from the style of massage she was performing. I asked if she could just spend the remainder of the session focusing on my leg muscles. Seemingly annoyed, she asked me to turn over to my back. She held the blanket against her body, leaving me completely exposed in turning over. I held my chest as I flipped over. I sensed she was doing this on purpose. The massage on my legs was very basic. Again, I could sense the limited familiarity with the anatomy and musculoskeletal system. The fact that this woman was referred to me by the front desk, when I emphasized someone who was EXPERIENCED in deep tissue for therapeutic and trigger point massage, is absolutely baffling. If you are looking for true deep tissue, trigger point release, and over all knowledge of anatomical structures- I suggest Lisa Steph or Norbert at the Piscataway ME. This was such a joke that I will never return.
