I have always signed up for deep tissue massages at Massage Envy. I got a voicemail saying that the masseuse I was scheduled with was no longer working at Massage Envy and I had to call about rescheduling. Before I was able to call back, Massage Envy called me again - this time, they said the masseuse I was scheduled with "wasn't in tomorrow." I found it odd that the explanation was changed. Regardless, I was unable to choose a different date and time because the rest of the month was booked, and I am also a busy person - that's why I made my appointment 3.5 weeks in advance. The masseuse I had for my appointment didn't do deep tissue massages, only "light to medium" massages. I find this to be ridiculous - Massage Envy should hire employees who are trained and proficient in all common types of massages. Deep tissue massage is not an exotic or rare type of massage. The fact that an employee would not be able to perform this is very strange and reflects poorly on Massage Envy's hiring criteria.
