- Rating 2.5I've been a member of ME since 2005. I'm locked into a $49 monthly rate. However, there are many ME locations who won't honor the locked-in monthly rate and will charge the difference in the new monthly rate on too of my monthly rate. There is no advantage of being a long time member of ME. I bought my boyfriend a membership starting at $55 month. It's now $70 a month. Plus he has to pay the upcharge at some ME location. We spend our summers in Spokane WA and we can't use our membership at the Spokane location because they charge me and extra $40/month to use their facility.
