- Rating 1.0I came for a 60 minute massage, my appointment was at 5:15pm. per the website there is a 10 minute buffer to allow for meeting with the therapist but after 15 minutes my therapist never came which I assumed was due to previous appointment running late. after sitting in the tranquility room for a full hour my wife's appointment finished and my therapist never came to get me for the appointment. The frustration was that the therapist never came out to check to see if I was there. as a mental health therapist I will check in 2-3 minute increments when. I have an appointment and client is not there initially so for me the therapist never coming out to check was frustrating. The front desk receptionist was empathetic as well as the therapist. it came to our attention that it was due to technological error where the therapist had an iPad that was assigned to another person where her appointments were on another iPad. Initially I was totally understanding until they informed me the therapist had back to back appointments the entire day so her not coming out was more frustrating as she knew her entire day was filled. The front desk receptionist then contacted a higher up employee to discuss the situation where they provided me with a $120 dollar gift card. The total cost of the massage was $80 dollars plus the 15 dollar aroma enhancement and I left 25 dollar tip as I prepaid before going back to the appointment. I am quite underwhelmed with the resolution as for driving 45 minutes to the appointment only for my therapist to not come out, I was given a refund for what I purchased the situation but was attempted to be convinced that Massage Envy went above and beyond for the situation saying " we are going to take care of you" . I most likely will not come back to Massage Envy after this situation, although I do appreciate everyone being apologetic.
