- Rating 2.5Kim was my massage therapist. While she was kind, I just felt like the massage itself wasn’t what I was expecting, and was unlike any other massage that I’ve ever had (unfortunately, not in a good way). It felt like there was a complete lack of understanding of musculature/pressure points, and the movements felt more like she was trying to quickly wipe something off my skin instead. My skin was really sensitive afterwards, like I just got carpet burn, because there wasn’t enough lotion on my body during the hour either. There wasn’t a single moment where her movements felt intentional, slow, or focused. She also never kneaded any of my muscles (which I selected firm pressure, and spoke to her about how I’ve dealt with a lot of loss this year and needed to get several knots in my shoulders worked out). I feel like my selection, and our conversations weren’t addressed at all. To be honest, I was just ready for it to be over, which I’ve never experienced during a massage before. I was really looking forward to feeling more relaxed/less stressed, but I think this massage did the opposite. And I left feeling a bit disappointed/pretty bummed.
