- Rating 3.0The "tipping on the regular rate" spiel is very cheap - and I feel like I am being deceived every time. I get asked "20% is fine, right" - without being provided the cost for the service. The so called "20%" is actually more than 30%+ because the local franchise believes that I should be tipping on the list price, not what I pay. I do not care about the list rate, member rate. I have normalized tipping 20% across restaurants, service places - but I am not going to tip more than 20% beacuse the management does not pay well wages. If MassageEnvy believes that the service providers are entitled to more $ - based on the "list rates" - either MassageEnvy should increase the member rates - and see if people are coming to their locations at those rates - OR stop expecting tips on bogus inflated ***** rates. Getting a massage should be a calming experience, and being tricked and deceived is not a good experience.
- Rating 2.0Had Facial session scheduled last Saturday 19/04 for 1:00 - 2:00 and had also a Massage session for 2:00 - 3:00. Friday 18th in the morning called Massage Envy and requested to postpone each of those appointments by 1 hour. The Clerk that I had over the phone mentioned it was possible to do it with the same professionals as for the original schedule. When I arrived at 2:00 on Saturday, I had facial and massage with different professionals. Nothing against those professionals, but I was not expecting them. The other bad surprise was that I was charged one upgrade to the facial that I have not requested or approved. The facial professional just told me that once she was not the person following my treatment, she would just do a simple cleanse. I tried to not accept this extra fee, but the guy at the reception told me the procedure was to pay and afterwards he would be sending a notification to his manager. So far I have not received any feedback and really reconsidering changing Massage Envy. Best Regards, Guilherme Teixeira - 972-955-0461
