I was told to arrive 10 minutes ahead of time, so that should be the consult time...and it sure doesn't take me 5 minutes to dress and undress. 10 Minutes for consult and dressing...that's BS, an hour massage should be an hour massage. Even with that said I still got screwed out of at least 5 minutes. Massage started at 1:05 and ended at 1:50...so just about the time I was about to ask to focus on specific areas (after only 45 minutes of what is sold as a 60 minute massage) I was told we're finished. If you're charging $130 for a fifty (45) minute massage then state so. To say an hour with an asterisk is misleading and deceptive. If you need to change your scheduling to ensure that you're actually providing what you're selling, then do so. Seems to me that getting a 45 minute massage when you were told 60 is unacceptable. Regarding my service provider, I felt that tipping was pressured and assumed. When she completed, her statement was "I accept cash and Venmo". Not "If you would like to tip you can do so at the front desk". When I finished dressing (which takes way less than 5 minutes) she was waiting outside the room with her phone ready. I Venmo'd her $20 though after seeing the time I would not have tipped that much if at all. The Front Desk Associate that I spoke to on the phone was not very helpful in that I had a promo card with $20 on it. I was given the option for a few upgrades to the massage such as exfoliating hand massage. I tried to find out if this service was in addition to the massage or if this would take time out of the massage itself, something I didn't want to do. I never really got an answer, selected the exfoliating hand massage and sure enough, 10 minutes was spent massaging my hands as opposed to trouble areas such as my upper back which I indicated during my "consultation". Additionally, when I came up to the counter at the end to pay I was informed that I had an additional $5 on the gift card and that I could use that for gratuity. So you're telling me that not only could I have tipped not using Venmo, which was weird, but that I could have used the promo for tip instead of something I never really wanted? Lastly, if a person is sick or has allergies, it really is something that should be addressed. I'm not trying to be difficult but when the masseuse it constantly sniffing and clearing their throat it limits the client's ability to relax and lose themselves in the experience. It's the movie theater equivalent of someone sitting behind you, reaching their hand into a bag of candy every 30 seconds. In summary I paid $130 for a quality 60 minute massage that ended up being 45 minutes of "meh", and tipped $25 through Venmo and the front counter, never having been told that I could have used the money left over after my massage for tip. I left the experience with more stress than I had when I went in.
